CEO Challenge

It’s not about sight. It’s about vision.

When you think about it, great leaders share a lot in common with great runners. Knowing your best qualities and pressing your advantage when it matters most. Having a feel for the competition and how the field is running on any given day. Recognizing that the surest way to finish at the back of the pack is to focus on your disadvantages rather than find your hidden strengths.

For 2008, the Vision 5K invites corporate leaders to join in the CEO Challenge to put these abilities to the test and to showcase what you—and your company—are capable of. This is no rope course in the woods or role-playing retreat. It’s the thrill and challenge of putting yourself to the test in one of the most unique sporting events in Boston.

How does it work? Put on a blindfold, team up with a sighted guide, and run or walk in our 5K race. Covering your eyes will uncover just how much guts and determination you have. It frees you to do things not just in a new way, but to accomplish things you never thought were possible.

By the time you cross the finish line, you’ll be a different person. And your employees, clients, and partners will see you in a different light. With you, they’ll understand that vision isn’t just looking ahead, it’s looking within. That being blind—and any other challenge—cannot hold you back. That, in the end, fear is the only disability.

Congratulations, you’ve conquered the CEO Challenge.
