VISION 5K Sets New Record for fun and Fundraising!!!

Saturday, June 2nd, will go down in history as the most successful 5K Fundraiser ever for the Carroll Center for the Blind, Greater Boston Guild for the Blind, MAB Community Services, National Braille Press and Perkins School for the Blind! More than $$250,000 was raised to support these great organizations work.

We thank all of you who contributed and participated in this event; we are all champions today!

From a scintillating photo finish in the 5k, won by Gonzalo Moises Beristain Gutieerez (a blind runner from Mexico), to the Harpoon root beer, to Anna's Taqueria's burritos, Soulfire BBQ, Bare-naked Granola, Turkey Hill Ice Cream (with MIX98-5); to a joyous Fun Run for the children, and a phenomenal closing act by Danny Klein and his "Full House" band, The legendary James Montgomery and Rockin’ George Leh; The Fenway was festive in celebration of what the blind can accomplish, and what is available to support their endeavors!

A special thanks to DMSE staff and all of our wonderful volunteers who worked diligently in making the VISION 5K experience fun, safe and educational.

Again, many thanks to DMSE and all of our sponsors, led by Bank America and Bear Stearns.

We can't wait until next year! Hope you can't either!
